True Love Waits - Pure Hearts
Hello again! It has been a while since I last wrote, so let me recall the gist of my last letter. We were talking about a prescription – or plan – for achieving marital happiness. All engaged couples expect that their future life together will bring them joy, satisfaction, and a sense of fulfillment.
It began with an interest in photographs of scantily clad women on the final pages of certain magazines. I was 13 years old. My body’s reaction surprised me. I discovered that sexual arousal was a pleasant experience, and I couldn’t get enough of it. The practice became more and more frequent, until it became a daily habit.
During his May 27, 2006 meeting outside of Krakow with over 600,000 of Poland’s youth, the Holy Father, Benedict XVI, urged his audience not to give up seeking a robust, happy, and successful life. “In giving young hearts a great longing for happiness, our Creator does not abandon them in the painstaking building of the house which we call life….How to build this house?
In a very similar way Christ came to me. My problem was impurity—specifically, self-abuse.
Hi! This time, instead of writing a letter to the girls or guys, I have decided to write to engaged couples. Over the last while I have had occasion to meet quite a few couples who plan, sooner or later, to enter into the sacrament of matrimony. I have come to know their expectations, joys and concerns.
